Sorry for my disappearance as of late- last few weeks of semester, plus babysitting some adorable nephews. Turns out that when you've got a 9 month sleeping on your chest while you try to write an essay, you also don't have that much time for nail painting. Class presentations Monday and Tuesday, but the rain and gloom inspired this rainy water marble, with a sunshine thumb. Blues, and Purples over a silver base, with an orange and yellow for the sun.

Bespeckled
New nails now that I'm back from Jazz Fest! A pretty teal (CoverGirl Outlast- Stay Brilliant) topped with some fun confetti (Maybelline Color Show - Street Art). I am really pleased with the results!

NOLA or Bust
I leave for New Orleans in two days - headed to Jazz Fest - my nails had to be ready.
The other hand says Fest, but it didn't come out great, so just imagine it.

Spring has sprung!
This whole week we have had temperatures in the 50's and higher and I couldn't be happier! In honor of it finally starting to feel like spring, I did some poppy flower nails!

Rainbow peace
Did this just for fun- my cuticles are a mess, but cleaning them was just taking too long and I got impatient. Usually a few days worth of activity will clean my cuticles for me.
Posting two pictures of the left hand (right was too messy to post) at different angles to try to get a good shot.

Flat and Fun
Thought I posted these Tuesday, but I guess it never published. Nothing too fancy design-wise, but I did experiment with a matte top coat for the first time and I'm loving it!

My First Entry
I am working with limited resources while I'm abroad (choosing which nail polishes to bring was a huge part of the packing process, considering my at home bag of polish weighs like 15 pounds), but I am really happy with how this idea turned out. I've done it before with pastel colors in rainbow order, but I think these colors go together even better.
Green Birthday
April 3rd is the birthday of a friend of mine, and in his honor I go all out wearing green. While I won't post it on here, I think my favorite part of this year's outfit was the lime green tutu. Perhaps my second favorite part were my nails. Of course I unfortunately was unable to see him on his birthday as he lives halfway across the country, I sent him a picture of my green outfit, along with these pictures of my nails.
The pictures don't really do justice to my painting process. I used several green polishes to do some water marbling, but they were pretty cheap polishes and didn't come out very bold (or very green). I painted bright green on top, then used both a dark green and black deco polish to write the letters.
Still working on taking pictures well, and getting the colors right... but this gets the gist of it.
Also, I liked my left thumb with the flowers (seen with my Easter nails below) too much to take it off, so I left it and just added the green on top, with some greens sparkles.

P.S. For anyone who happens to know her, today (the 4th) is my sister's birthday.
You should tell her happy birthday.
